Brother Chidananda has been the president and spiritual head of Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society of India since 2017. These events are a special opportunity to spend time with Brother Chidananda in a spirit of divine fellowship. Dates of events will be added as they are announced throughout the year. In Self-Realization Fellowship, commemorative services are conducted throughout the year to honor the enlightened gurus in the SRF lineage. SRF monks and nuns lead these services and meditations online in multiple languages throughout the year, as well as in English in SRF Temples. SRF members also lead services at SRF centers and groups around the world. Please see the featured events at the top of this page for links to join upcoming commemorative services. SRF monastics regularly travel to cities around the globe to lead weekend retreat programs. SRF monks and nuns and SRF/YSS members also lead one-day online retreat programs in English and other languages throughout the year. As well, SRF centers and groups worldwide hold retreats at local retreat facilities for SRF members and friends. The technique of Kriya Yoga is taught in person to eligible SRF Lessons students at sacred initiation ceremonies conducted by authorized ordained Self-Realization Fellowship ministers. It is also sent in a special series of printed Lessons that cover every aspect of the Kriya science. (Learn more about the Kriya Yoga path of meditation.)
For eligible SRF Lessons students who are able, there is great value and inspiration in receiving initiation (diksha) in person. Kriya Yoga initiation ceremonies will be held in the following cities this year:
Each year thousands of spiritual seekers from countries around the world gather for a powerful week of spiritual renewal and rejuvenation at the SRF World Convocation. This immersive program on the “how-to-live” teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda is offered both online and in person. As part of this program, SRF monks and nuns visit cities around the globe and lead Convocation activities.
Paramahansa Yogananda felt deeply for the welfare of youth and took a lifelong interest in their all-around education. Building on the rich, in-person offerings developed for SRF Youth Programs over many decades, SRF online How-to-Live programs teach young people how to lay a spiritual foundation for their lives, one that becomes a sustaining positive influence long after the series of classes.
