Position Summary

  • Maintain and support network and infrastructure.
  • Remote and onsite deployment, management, and troubleshooting of networks and systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
  • Support end-users with onsite support needs.
  • Ability to work onsite a minimum of 4 days a week across the various SRF temples, sites, and locations, primarily based near our International Headquarters in Los Angeles.
  • Interact with and support SRF Staff and Monastics across various departments.
  • Other position-related tasks, as assigned.

Responsibilities

Network Administration: 

  • Deploy and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and connectivity.
  • Configure and manage network protocols, such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.

End-user Support: 

  • Provide remote and onsite technical support to users regarding network, infrastructure, and general support related issues.
  • Serve as a Tier 3 support for the Service Desk as needed.

Hardware Management: 

  • Install, configure, and maintain onsite Nutanix hyperconverged and on-premises server infrastructure
  • Update and patch various systems to ensure security and stability.
  • Manage inventory and lifecycle of network equipment.

Endpoint Management:

  • Oversee management, maintenance, and administration of the entire fleet of endpoints.

Onsite Responsibilities:

  • Respond to network and infrastructure incidents in a timely manner, which may include traveling onsite to various SRF locations across Los Angeles and San Diego County
  • Serve as a lead role in network and infrastructure projects, which will require traveling onsite to various SRF locations across Los Angeles and San Diego County

Documentation: 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
  • Create and update network diagrams and documentation.
  • Honor and maintain a strict level of confidentiality.
  • Responsible to follow SRF’s policies and established processes.
  • Other position-related tasks, as needed and assigned.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or complementary professional certifications is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent SRF adequately.
  • 10+ years of experience in network/system administration/engineering.
  • Proficiency in Windows networks and Active Directory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 environments, including Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange Online required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with SRF principles and standards.
  • Proficiency in managing and configuring network hardware and software, including switches, firewalls, and network operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, topologies, and technologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously.
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a high-performance team.
  • Respect and consideration for the SRF culture and Monastic environment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds.

Additional Details

This is a 40 hour per week position, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.  The individual in this position will work onsite a minimum of 4 days a week across the various SRF temples, sites, and locations, primarily based near our International Headquarters in Los Angeles.

Pay Range: $38.46 - $48.08 per hour.
